Let's face it......Home Depot is an armpit of a job. Work your ass off for 8.75 an hour, NOT the 15 to 20 like some folks think. Managers come and go from the store so fast your head spins. ASMs who still have afterbirth behind their ears who think this is the way to use their sorry ass college degrees. Don't know a damn thing about retail or people. We had one who is 25 years old and this is his first gig out of college. Anyway, too many people busting their ass for a lousy 22 cents an hour raise. That's two dimes and two pennies. The sorry workers get more, especially if they have a workmans comp suit pending and spend most of their time in the break room AND ARE MALE. I think within 5 years Lowe's will prevail once and for all......I can only pray.

FUCK i hurt my back on the job for the third time on 01/27/10 i told my supervisor about it and he told me he's not going to play this game and to go see the HR tomorrow. so the next day i went to see my doctor he put me on meds to take away the pain and recommended to try physiotherapy, later that day my work called me to ask why i didn't report my injury so i told them that my supervisor said to come and talk to HR. she told me she would call me back soon, 30mins past she calls back and tells me we have to do the report now or The Home Depot will get a fine so we did the report over the phone. the frist few weeks i was so fucked cause of the meds i was taking that supervisors were sending me home but as soon as WSIB steped in to help me out they paid for 4 months of physiotherapy, actupuncher and heat therapy i also seen some more doctors at sunny broke hostpital around april and they told me it would take 3-4 weeks to heal but sadly that was not the case. now WSIB has cut me off i have tried to apply for short term disability and they told me to try WSIB so im FUCKED cause i can't work cause I'm in pain all the time so my only other option is to take the E.I. home depot said i can have cause i have been out of work for three weeks and the bill have been piling up so i have no choice. I'm just really done with all the test like MRI, bone scan, and x-rays and i also refuse to take anymore meds cause i feels like its was killing me i just want my life to go back to what it use to be with no pain.

This store has had so many manager change overs I can't keep up. Jen is the only manager here that actually does her job. AL the GM, doesn't have enough of a backbone to stand up and DO anything that needs to be done, or get rid of the dead wood. There is an employee who has been brought up on sexual harrassment more than once that still works here because he knows how to kiss that ass.
The Department Heads don't know anything about their departments, one in particular got her possition by litterally sleeping with the Ops manager, who was then moved to another store because they were caught in the act in the parking lot. Did they fire them? nope just moved Jerry to Auburn, and kept Dawn. And then gave her a Dept head job in another area.
If they do happen to train someone of manager material, the employee transfers to another store. it is like rats running from a sinking ship.
Oh and did I mention the Racism? yeah HUGE HERE!
The only way to get ahead is to keep your head down, don't talk to other employees, and learn to like kissing ass.
And before you say ...why don't you just quit... I say: HAVE you TRIED TO FIND A JOB THESE DAYS???? I have to work here till I find a new job, and believe me I have applications filled out! so I am biding my time with the stupidity.

home depot looks down upon employees trying to do better in their life. Either by going to school, or joining the military. They give you an option of using personal time, and sick time... But can only use it at their descretion.Let it be known that SOP is BS. The policies and procedures,gmori tree, and wheel all sound like great things for a company to base themselves on... However, giving managers authorization to bend the rules, and pick and choose who they target is their extreme downfall. I've seen people get fired for calling in and posting pictures of the week before on their face book. I've now seen up and coming future soldiers get fired a week after they fill out the papers for their leave of absence... after getting harassed for 2 months about it.
I've seen people get fired for being in the break room an extra 2 minutes durring a 15 minute break.
"time fraud" is what I believe they called it.
Part timers are used as slaves. They beg for hours, and they wont schedule them... but instead they'll make it seem as though if you don't work at least 40 hours you could lose your job. Written customer complaints pop up when you ask for an extra day off after relatives pass away, health problems, and emotional problems.
Clocking in 2 minutes late coming back from lunch? write up... 1 more and it's your final... but they don't tell you until a month after the fact... so within that month you've been late maybe 1 or 2 times more...
TERMINATED.
What does SOP state? That doesn't matter.
WE NEED HR MANAGERS BACK IN EVERY STORE.
These store managers have way too much power. Their greed consumes the entire store, leading to bad customer service and poor employment morral.
Sexual harassment is tollerated, harassment is excusable, and if I didn't mention it before... SOP is bullshit.

Ours is a different situation, we are a company that bills Home Depot for products. They will NOT pay their bills, after 6 months, many emails and phone calls, still nothing, simply refuse to do anything!!!

Home-Don't-Give-A-Crap.. just lost my business. We had signed up for a don't pay for 1 year promotion. We had moved, and the bill reminders had gone to the old address. We missed the due date for the payment and they tacted on all the interest charges that we saved for the year.
We I called them to explain, they said sorry, nothing we can do. I said fine! This is what I can do. Cancel our card. we'll pay the bill in full. We will NOT be shopping at Home-Don't-Give-A-Crap any more. We'll be going to their competitor - Rona!
We probably spent close to $1,500 - $2,000 a year at Home-Don't-Give-A-Crap. And they lost it over a minor $109.00 in interest charges.
Poor, Poor customer service! They lost us!!!

I think that i might be getting fired soon for some shit that i didn't even do.
Apparently, someone complained about an associate and guess who turned out to be their most likely suspect? I am/was the only worker there who never...NEVER asked for more than one break a day, I am/was always on time, i actually stand on the race track and help every customer in every way that i can, I have/had a great track record, never have been written up, and i volunteer/ed at their little 'building projects.' I labored for hours out in garden, loading mulch and all kinds of shit and it's not even my job! I am a full time student, yet i have nearly full time hours even through i am part time(seems to be common) and now i might be looking at unemployment because a bunch of skanks decided that i was a likely suspect.
Likely because i work? Likely because i do my job and hardly ever complain? I am so mad right now i could chew through molding!!!
Fuck Home Depot if they are really going to be like this.
To top it all off, i was threatened with termination for not getting credits!
That's right consumers!
We WILL GET FIRED if we don't push those cards on you!!! Please, PLEASE, just smile and say no. Most of us are TOTALLY EMBARRASSED to have to ask you if you want to apply for a card and will drop it with a simple 'no.' We are consumers too and we don't like it when other stores shove their crap down our throats. We sure as hell are PISSED about having to be credit whores for people who fire or lay off their best employees.
I am not speaking only for myself. I have seen 4 different EXCELLENT employees be fired for the STUPIDEST shit you could imagine! One for no credits, the second because she was (get this) slow at the register after only being there 1 week, the third because he told a customer that he didn't think she could have 3 bags of mulch for free because she bought 10 and the last...heaven forbid THE LAST got fired because she called that Awareness hotline and complained.
If i do get terminated, i will promise you this, you will see me more on this site, reminding myself every day why i am more than likely better off having being fired, than still slaving at that fucking place for nothing.

Can not copy schedule at my store, because it is posted under glass which is locked. It is your responsibility to check if changes are made even if you are part time and the changes are made when you are off. Screw home deephole, not worth the trouble to work there glad to be gone!!!!!

once the schedule is posted, they cannot change it unless they ask you first. this came from an HR person themselves. that's why it is wise to copy your schedule as soon as it is posted.
